Meade is dedicated to providing interns with real world, hands-on experience and plans for our interns to experience beneficial learning that they will be able to use throughout their career.

When hiring an Intern, we want to plan their time well, give them valuable experience, and create an environment for them to thrive at Meade. With their supervisor, each Intern co-creates an Intern Plan which intentionally combines field experiences, training, and applying construction management fundamentals in an office and jobsite setting. The supervisor tries to empower the Intern to take initiative on progressing their Intern Plan and emphasizes the value of making it a “self-directed” process. The Intern period gives Meade time to evaluate the Intern’s performance and observe their conduct and character. The Intern and Meade can observe if there is compatibility of values and culture for a possible future career. By the end of their time with us, we want each Intern to feel like a positive contributor to the organization.

Interns find our Internship Program to be very valuable because they experience real insight and perspective in to what a career in this field looks like on a daily basis. After participating in the Meade Internship Program, we want the Intern to feel that they have been an important part of the Meade Team, have learned a lot and have been stretched and challenged.
