Intelligent Transportation Systems

Throughout this two-year project, Meade coordinated with over 20 mainline contracts and installed 23 control buildings with natural gas generators, 29 over the road gantry structures with 374 Active Traffic Management signs, 4 full walk-in DMS signs, 89 poles with CCTV and Microwave Vehicle detection equipment, over 450,000 feet of power cable and 68 miles of fiber optic cable. This project is the model for the tollway intelligent transportation systems program going forward.

Overseeing the State’s multimillion dollar initiative comes with many obstacles, namely working with constraints of live traffic, lane closures and working in the evening.
