Meade’s Low Voltage Technology Group was excited to work with Crate & Barrel, an industry leading home furnishings and accessories specialty retailer, to perform an installation of a state-of-the-art wireless system for tracking inventory in their brand new 900,000 sq. ft. distribution center located in Newton, North Carolina.
Crate And Barrel Distribution Center
Crate And Barrel Project Process
This project represented many challenges: an accelerated schedule (6 weeks for completion), mobilizing Meade crews out of state into the holiday season. But, Meade was up for the challenge, as both high and low voltage electricians worked together to deliver a successful project. This distribution center comprised of 162 antennas (32 exterior and 130 interior).
In order to drive the new antennas, more than 10,000 feet of backbone fiber optic and 80,000 feet of category cable needed to be ran to 16 IDF (Intermediate Distribution Frame) locations.
